Insurance and Holidays

We all enjoy a vacation or a short holiday and during this time, we want to have fun without any worries at all. This is the main reason that those enjoying their time away have travel insurance. The good news is that their car insurance is still at work as well. Traveling across Canada or the United States is no problem for Canadian auto insurance. No matter where you are in the US or Canada, family medical expenses are covered.

The auto liability coverage you have on your auto can cover any costs related to an accident where a person in another vehicle is injured. An example of this would be a trip to a park in that you strike a pedestrian from behind and that person is injured. Liability in Canada in most cases runs at $1 million dollars for the residents with the known fact that the higher the liability the better the coverage. Canadian dollars on the other hand only go so far in the United States.

Property insurance offers more protection than you might imagine and is not reserved for your car and home. If you and your family are spending the night in a hotel and while you are enjoying dinner, someone breaks into your room and steals personal items. If you have property insurance these personal items are covered. You will need to contact your insurance company and of course pay the deductible prior to replacing the items. If the value of the items stolen is less than your deductible then you will not receive any funds to replace the items.

You may not believe this, but if you are golfing, playing baseball, or even fishing and a mishap occurs such as you swing your club and hit a fellow golfer, you throw the bat and hit the umpire, you throw your line into the lake but it hits a person in a boat. If you have $1 million liability coverage in your property policy you are in luck as it will pay for these accidents even if they are minor, some individuals may decide to take you to court.
