The 24th Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. Paul Keating was one of those I admire the most for his communication skills. He came into power in 1991 and completed his full tenure till 1996. After he acquired the Prime Minister post, he guided his Labor party to one more triumph in 1993 Federal Elections. The party had considered their win a lost one and they had no hope for that, but Paul was the one who led the party to victory. Paul Keating defeated Mr. Robert Hawke, his previous employer, with a convincing win. The credibility of the legend had been realized even before he stepped into the shoes of Mr. Hawke. People used to consider him to be more realistic, his thoughts were thought to be more true to the public’s needs and his communication with his cabinet and his public was extraordinary. People used to admire him for his healthy communication and his speaking skills. This can be considered as the main skill that set him apart from the other leaders of that time. This is one of the main skills that govern a person’s abilities to excel. A good communication skill can make a person more confident, realistic and can generate newer ideas in him. Besides, an effective communication is said to take place only if the recipient understands the actual essence of what the speaker is saying. Also, speaking in a language that can easily be understood by all is important. Use of difficult words and tricky vocabulary can not only lead to the listeners not understanding it, but can also make the orator commit several mistakes. 3. Decoding: These encoded thoughts then have to be decoded in the most effective manner possible to the listener, so that he may understand the real meaning of what you say. You may be able to encode your thoughts better, but may not replicate them in the manner they are meant to be.

Before coming to this topic, let me briefly describe as to what leadership actually is. “Leader”-this word can even make or break a person’s life. There is no pious thing in this world to stand for someone else. Not all the men God created are equal in virtues, qualities and confidence. Similarly, not all can take a stand for anything wrong that is happening to them, or any right they are being kept away from or even from the commodities of daily life. There is a large chunk of population in this world, and in every country individually as well, who are not getting enough weight age as their other country fellows. A leader is one person, who in himself is aware of all such issues, and who is confident enough to take a stand to deliver these people what their true right are.
